Hit-and-run in Miami leaves one man dead

If you’ve lived in the Magic City for any period of time, you’ve probably seen how crazy the traffic can get here. We’ve all seen the reckless driver in the sports car weaving through traffic, the motorcycles zipping by and the teenagers with their heads down looking at a text. So, in all likelihood, no one needs a reminder of how deadly it can be to drive these streets. Sadly, we got yet another reminder May 10.

A camera mounted outside the Shell gas station on the corner of 36th Street and Northwest 27th Avenue, as well as a red light cam, captured the horrific accident in terrible detail. Four men from Honduras were traveling down the road in a Buick SUV when they were T-boned by a Dodge Ram, causing massive damage to the passenger’s side of the SUV and the front of the truck. Both vehicles came to a rest in the middle of the intersection.

Rescue workers rushed three of the SUV’s passengers to a hospital, where one died upon arrival from his injuries. By Tuesday, one had been released, while another was still in critical condition. Police reported that the two men that were in the Dodge had fled the scene.

In the chaos that follows an accident like this one, it can be hard to know what your options are. You are left with mounting medical bills, a loss of wages, or worse, funeral costs for a loved one. An attorney can take a look at your case and may be able to conduct an investigation into the crash to help you get compensation.
