An SUV traveling in the wrong direction on Florida’s Interstate 95 caused an accident involving several vehicles, including one that was set ablaze. The burning vehicle, a pickup truck, was clipped by an SUV as it was driving into oncoming traffic. The report did not say if any car accident victim in this crash was seriously injured.
Witnesses report the black Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was southbound in the interstate’s northbound lanes. Numerous vehicles maneuvered to make room for the SUV coming at them in an effort to avoid collisions. However, the SUV clipped at least two vehicles that were unable to get out of its way. When the SUV clipped the truck, it caused a chain reaction crash.
The SUV clipped a Camry before going out of control. A bystander pulled the reportedly incoherent SUV driver from his vehicle. Other drivers managed to pull the truck’s two occupants out before it caught fire. Officials did not mention specific injuries from this multiple vehicle car crash caused by a wrong way driver on I-95. However, these types of accidents often cause serious injuries resulting in lost wages, medical and other expenses, as well as pain and suffering.
Negligent driver accidents that cause significant damages to vehicles can cause permanent disability or death. Initially, people often do not know they are hurt, the full extent of their injuries, what it might cost or what their rights are. Therefore, it is beneficial to seek attorney representation quickly in order to preserve evidence and obtain witness statements while the details are fresh.
