Miami wreck leaves several injured

A busy Miami street was the scene of a serious wreck that sent several vehicles into a bus stop and sent five people to the hospital. The auto accident involved a total of seven vehicles at the intersection of LeJeune Road and Flagler Street. Cars were waiting at a red light on the northbound side of the street when a Miami-Dade Transit pickup truck ran through the intersection and hit several of the vehicles.

One witness reported that the truck hit several cars in succession without stopping. He said that he witnessed one victim with a severed leg and many who were injured. One of the cars slammed into a bus stop where several people were waiting for a bus. A total of 10 people were injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash and are unsure if speed played a factor. No arrests have been made, but witnesses claim that the truck driver failed to stop even after hitting at least one of the vehicles.

A serious car accident such as this one can claim lives and leave victims severely injured. When victims sustain injuries as the result of a car crash, they may be entitled to seek payment of damages by the responsible driver. These damages can include payment of medical expenses, lost wages, living costs and other expenses associated with recovering from the crash. Furthermore, victims may be entitled to seek payment for their pain, suffering and mental anguish as well as punitive damages if the driver was willfully negligent. A car accident attorney may represent the victims in such a case and assist them in their attempts to recover damages from the responsible driver.
