It is possible that residents of the Miami area heard a collective shriek from teen girls when they heard the news of Justin Bieber’s recent head injury. The heartthrob reportedly sustained a mild concussion while performing in Paris. The incident happened when the singer walked backstage and ran into a glass door.
Though the singer completed the concert, after the show he reportedly lost consciousness for around 15 seconds. He was checked out by a doctor and is expected to be okay.
Not all injuries to the brain turn out this well. Individuals who sustain more serious head injuries, such as those characterized as traumatic brain injuries, can deal with the aftermath for years after the initial incident. In addition to issues with communication, changes to their mood and personality may occur as well. Because of these issues, a person who sustains this kind of injury may accumulate medical bills for years into the future.
While these injuries can be inflicted in many different ways, when they are the fault of another person, the injured individual may decide to file a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent party, seeking monetary damages for the injury. Amounts recovered may be for things such as lost wages and medical bills.
Interestingly, this is not the first time “the Bieb” has had a literal run-in with a glass door. Several years ago he reportedly walked into a glass revolving door. It is unclear if he sustained a head injury in that incident. In any event, it appears worried girls throughout the Miami area can breathe a sigh of relief, for now at least.
