South Florida crash involving deputy sends woman to hospital

It is fair to say that most residents of the Miami area do not want to be involved in a motor vehicle accident. Of those individuals, it is probably especially true that they don’t want to be in a car crash with a member of law enforcement. This recently happened to one woman who driving near the Florida Turnpike, however.

The incident occurred earlier this month in nearby Boca Raton, at the intersection of Mizner Way and Palmetto Park Road. The details of the crash are not currently available. What is known is that the vehicle driven by the woman was somehow involved in a collision with a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Apparently the deputy was not serious injured in the car crash. The woman behind the wheel of the other vehicle reportedly sustained serious injuries however. The force of the collision caused the woman to be ejected from her vehicle. Though the nature of her injuries is not known, she was taken via helicopter to Delray Medical Center for treatment.

There are a variety of reasons that this crash could have occurred. Distracted driving is to blame in many South Florida car accidents. In other cases collisions are the result of a driver operating a vehicle while under the influence of a substance. Other times, medical incidents are the cause.

An investigation will probably provide a step-by-step account of what happened. Whatever the reason for the collision in this case, all are likely hoping that the injured woman has a speedy recovery.
