Drunk driving car accident leads to injury

Anytime you choose to drive, you are putting your life in the hands of the other drivers around you. In some cases, the other drivers on the road are distracted, impaired or under the influence of alcohol. Any of these can cause delayed decisions that can lead to car accidents. These accidents can lead to injuries ranging from not life-threatening to catastrophic. Florida residents might like to hear about an accident caused by an allegedly drunk driver that injured the estranged wife of George Zimmerman.

The car accident occurred in Winter Park. The woman was turning left at an intersection with a traffic light when her car was struck by a driver who ran the red light. She had scratches and scrapes from the airbag in her vehicle deploying as a result of the crash. The woman reported that she injured her foot in the accident and was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities arrested the other driver for charges related to driving under the influence.

While the accident that involved Zimmerman’s estranged wife didn’t involve serious injuries, many accidents do. If you or a loved one has suffered injuries as the result of an auto accident, you might be able to seek compensation for the costs of those injuries, such as medical bills or drug costs. It might also be possible to receive money for pain and suffering or emotional distress.

Speaking with a Florida attorney with ample experience in personal injury cases can help you to decide if seeking compensation for your injuries is a viable option. These professionals can also help you to make your case as you go through the necessary legal proceedings.
