North Miami ATV accident claims a life

An ATV rider was killed in a car accident in North Miami. Witnesses stated that the ATV was speeding when it crashed into a minivan. The fatal car crash happened on 6th Avenue, at the entrance to a Walgreens near the corner of northeast 149th Street. One eyewitness said that it appeared that the ATV rider tried to hit his brakes, but it was too late. The ATV hit the minivan near the passenger door.

Man charged in fatal hit-and-run accident pleads guilty

This past spring we wrote about a civil wrongful death lawsuit that the family members of a bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run car accident filed. The man died when a vehicle struck him along with another bicyclist as they rode on Rickenbacker Causeway in Miami. The driver of the vehicle who fled reportedly turned himself into the police some 18 hours after the fatal collision occurred.

This past weekend, a fatal hit-and-run car accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the Miami area. According to Miami Police, the pedestrian was struck by a speeding car, landing on its windshield before falling to the ground. Fatal Miami biker accident but no manslaughter charges

A Florida driver with a suspended license, who hit and killed a motorcyclist, will apparently not be charged with vehicular manslaughter. Friends of the slain cyclist are not pleased with the decision of the Miami-Dade Attorney’s Office with their handling of this car accident.
